Has any one been successful in changing an H4 to an H1b
I live with my husband(H1B) in ohio I am a fully qualified teacher of science and am well on the way to getting my ohio certification in order to teach here. I then should be able to apply for teaching jobs -except I don't have the correct visa to work-----any advice?????????????
Bored to death-- any other bored H4ers
As far as I know you have to go through the same procedures as your hubby for H1 - ie be offered a job first and the employer has to go thru' the motions of proving that a fellow American cannot take the job. Then you'll have to wait for the redtape to go thru' before you can actually start working for the US company - it really sucks - for me I'm a part qualified accountant but don't have a degree so I'd find it difficult to get anything job offer wise - I'm gonna hang on 'til greenncard time - if I haven't died of boredom before then!! It double sucks 'cos you can't even start a business unless you can prove that the position in the business would require a degree and you have the equivalent - ho, such fun!! roll
nudged for unsure in AZ. You could look at this option.
