I have been watching the Games and so far I haven't seen one Brit in any event. They used to be good at ice skating and we once had Eddie the Eagle...where are the Brits this year ?
And Keith, the Canadians were robbed, they were easy winners...trust the Froggies to do something like that.
I asked the same thing to my wife last night.
I'm sure there must be someone competing somewhere! I think the US coverage is overly-biased to US competitors and medal contendors only.
It does seem to be a disappointing year for British participiation in the Winter Olympics. I know we don't really care for it that much but as mentioned in an earlier post, we've still got the ice skaters.
Can anyone remember when John Noakes had a turn with the British bobsleigh team and he fell off or something and scraped his bum, and then showed it to thousands of children on "Blue Peter", scarring them for life?
Yes, yes I do remember that. I also remember thinking "christ that looks hard, what did he do that for ??"
Eddie The Eagle is a pervasive reminder over here. I have been asked a number of times if I knew him. If thats not bad he couldn't leave it alone could he. He had to make a stupid song. I cannot remember how it went, I just remember he performed it on Wogan and nobody could hear a word he said.
here is a quicklink giving the low down on Eddie the Eagle

I believe it was called "Fly Eddie Fly" but have thankfully erased all other knowledge of it from my memory banks smile
