Just thought I would share for those that don't have the all important dates and times to hand. This World Cup is going to be somewhat tiring for all us in the US, as all the games kick off between 230am EST and 730am EST evil
Englands group F fixtures are as follows
Eng vs Sweden Sun June 2nd 530am EST
Argentina vs Eng Fri June 7th 730am EST
Nigeria vs Eng Wed June 12th 230am EST
Final Eng vs ?? lol Sun June 30th 7am EST
The BBC outshines the FIFA site by a mile, check out all the fixtures at http//news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/english/football/world_cup_2002/default.stm
By the way, does anyone know who will have the TV rights here in the US?
Well - looks like I probably have to take those days off as holiday then. No way I could watch a game from 2.30 until 5.00 am and then do a day's work!
To answer your question on who will show what, here is what it said on http//www.soccertv.com, who I always use.
World Cup 2002
January 16, 2002
Univision Communications (NYSE UVN) holds US Spanish-language TV rights to World Cups 2002 and 2006 and Women's World Cup 2003 as part of a $150 million TV rights agreement between Univision and the International Association Football Federation (FIFA).
For World Cup 2002, Univision will air 56 matches live and the new TeleFutura broadcast network will air 8 matches live and 56 matches via tape-delay. Galavision will air 25 "matches of the day" via same-day tape-delay during prime-time at 7pm Eastern and Pacific Time.
The English-language US TV and radio rights to World Cups 2002 and 2006 as well as Women's World Cup 2003 were sold by German media conglomerate Kirch Media to Anschutz Soccer, Inc., a company owned by Colorado-based billionaire Philip Anschutz, for $40 million.
Anschutz proceeded to package those rights along with the US English-language TV rights to MLS in a barter deal with ESPN, Inc. in exchange for air time on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC in the US.
For World Cup 2002, ESPN will air 17 games live, ESPN2 will air 46 games live, and ABC will air the final LIVE and rebroadcast 8 other games.
For Women's World Cup 2003, ABC will air the final and the ESPN networks will air at least 10 other matches, all via tape-delay.
For World Cup 2006, ABC will air a minimum of 12 games LIVE, with the rest to air on the ESPN networks.
Note that DirecTV does NOT have any US TV rights to World Cup 2002 and 2006. DirecTV has exclusive TV rights to World Cup 2002 and 2006 in the following countries only Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
US residents are NOT required to subscribe to DirecTV or DirecTV Para Todos in order to watch the World Cup on the Univision Networks or the ESPN Networks. US residents will be able to watch the World Cup on any major pay-TV platform, including cable, DISH Network, DirecTV, and DirecTV Para Todos.
In Canada, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) will air LIVE the opening match, both semifinals, the 3rd place match, and the final, as well as 25 "matches of the day" via same-day tape delay at 7pm local time (730pm in Newfoundland). The Sports Network (TSN) will air the other 59 matches LIVE.
Has anyone ever subscribed to cable for just a month? Will I incur any penalties for doing that wink

Dont know man look at your contract before you sign it .if you dont have a contract your free and clear
The cable companies seem to differ over it. If you get in on an offer, they usually tie you into at least a year on it, although I never read the small print when I just got mine hooked up so not sure. You'd probably be able to try it - people come and go in rented houses and appartments all the time so I doubt it would be too big of a deal for the cable company.
Thanks Pilgrim, can't ask for a better answer than that. I guess being in the middle of the night, theres a fair bit of airtime going free. So all I need is a few cans of Redbull and the odd Beckham special smile
