Hi ! After putting up with the UK for 40 years (I love the place really !),
my wife & I have decided it's time to try living abroad. We're both in
stressful jobs, working far too many hours and not paying enough attention
to our son. And we hate the weather. Oh, and the fact that you don't feel
safe in the UK anymore. And then there's the transport, National Health,
Schools .......... Well, you get the picture !
Although our heart is set on Cyprus (we love the island), we haven't yet
made a final decision on where we'll go - it really depends on what job I
can get and what we can afford.
Job's wise, I'm a computer consultant (speciallising in software for the
food industry) and have had over 20 years experience of British retailing
(from shop floor to head office). My wife is a senior recruitment advisor,
but again she's had extensive food retailing experience (yes, we did meet at
work !).
I've been trying to locate web sites or newsgroups for English Nationals
living in Cyprus - I'm keen to make contact with some so that I've got some
local knowledge to rely on or just be a friendly contact on the island. Failing that, can anyone suggest a good web-site
for jobs around the Med ? I guess getting an income is the first step to
moving abroad !
