I am curious to know if anyone has seen this show and what they thought of it. I am contemplating buying it on DVD but don't know anything about it (other than it was a BBC production and stars Alec Guiness).

Never saw the show, was a bit too young to understand it when it was last shown on television, but have recently ordered the book and should be picking it up sometime next week. I know my dad always highly rated Le Carre and the BBC generally does really good adaptations.

I taped the whole series a couple of years back when it was repeated over the Christmas holidays, is a excellent show well worth aquiring. Also stars Bernard Hepton & Hywel Bennet from memory. Also have the book in trilogy, still getting around to reading that, though did make a start once.
