...getting increasingly frustrated with the BCIS. Sensing that it was unlikely that I'd get my Greencard interview before my EAD and Travel Doc expired, I reapplied for both. Both have been pending for over 90 days.

In the mix of all this I will have to travel on Business abroad though exact dates and durations are unknown at the moment, which makes planning v. difficult since I'm hoping to receive notification from the BCIS any day.

As a result, my lawyer recommended that I could go down to the BCIS at some ungodly hour of the morning to see if I could be one of the 1st 25 to be eligible to get a new EAD (since mine has been pending for over 90 days) and take a letter from my company expressing my need to travel without jeopardizing my application, to see if they might expidite my Advance Parole. Of course there are no guarantees and I get the joy of standing out in the... (insert whatever inclement weather condition it will undoubtedly be on given day) for hours for the privilege of being yelled at by cranky officials (please tell me the BCIS have employed some nice, calm, friendly people now!!!)

Has anyone been through similar experiences? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
No, not the only one

a friend of mine has already had his interview about 2 years ago and still no greencard. His work auth expired a long time after he re-applied and as a result of it not being valid he got laid off.
He then got a letter from his potential employer and had to trek down to INS (or whatever they're called) and renew his EAD.
Still no stamp in the passport.
He has renewed it 3 times including the original one.

He hasn't left the country because he has never applied for the advance parole thingimibob, but as for the EAD, you're not the only one.
