For those of you guys who don't normally follow it, or will be supporting what looks to be New Jersey. Steve Thomas who plays for Anaheim, has had a distinguished career in the NHL, and apart from that he was born in sunny Stockport.

I noticed and I was trying to find a bio on him to see when he moved to the US. Probably was only born in the UK and is otherwise full on yank. I noticed there was also a Brit goalie playing for the Atlanta Thrashers but it turned out he was just as I described and then there is Owen Nolan from Northern Ireland but he moved over to Canada at a young age too.
Steve Thomas spent most of his early life and career in Toronto and joined the Maple Leafs before going to Ghicago in 1989.

He'll probably end up in the hall of fame for his career with Toronto.
The British Goalie with Atlanta is Byron Dafoe, he spent most of his carrer with Boston but pulled a strike and held out for better pay - didn't happen and he got shipped out to the Thrashers
