Has anyone had the two year probation ??? greencard and then gone on to obtain a new greencard or citizenship? If so what time frame did you leave prior to doing anything?

Thanks Zed

I've not had to do this, but you don't have a lot of choice over the timings. You have to apply for your conditions to be removed at the 1y 9mo point. The actual timings depend on your local BCIS office.

Yeah. I got a two year conditional one. Expired in 2000. I'm still waiting for a new one and an interview. They told me (I don't know how much validity to put on this) that I had to wait for renewal to apply for citizenship.

That doesn't sound right. You are eligible for citizenship from 3 years after you first receive you permanent residency status. It doesn't matter if it conditional or not.

Thats what I thought. An INS official told me that so I've been hesitant to rock the INS boat because they're like Soup Nazis(ever see Seinfeld?).
