Alcohol content around 24% - yum yum.

Interesting fact from the article - there are now around 400 breweries in the US with a further 1000 brew pubs.

But does it taste good? High alcohol isn't proof of good a good beer.
What percentage make crap beer?
Yeah, but by the third pint you don't care if its a good beer or not...

I know it isn't. I've tried other beers by the Fish Brewing Company that were really good. I can't imagine them intentionally selling a ****ty one when they have such a good reputation. Who knows - I ain't gonna shell out the cash to try it!

Hard to tell. Why don't you go try every one of them, then report back

I'd imagine, like everything else in life, there are good and bad. The important thing is that they exist at all - too much consolidation is a bad thing. The trend over here seems to be toward more & more microbreweries & brewpubs. Anyone know the trends in Britain? All I know is that Bass is now Coors

Now theres a good idea.

I think the microbreweries trend is acutally a revival of what once was post-prohibition.

Haven't read up on it a great deal but at least in my state, the big breweries removed the smaller competition by being able to undercut them in running costs - glass, cans etc. This is why they pumped in millions of dollars to obstruct the Oregon bills that enforce recycling of glass and cans. When the bill finally passed, it levelled the playing field somewhat and we now have several microbreweries that are doing pretty well.

Frankly, the worst microbrewery beer is still much better than anything I've tried from the bigger, national/international breweries. How many awards do they ever win and how much beer would they sell without the "twins" advertising it on TV to the unwashed masses? wink
There are some really good microbreweries here run by the casinos - Monte Carlo has one, the Main Street Station is really good, plus there's a chain of bars under the "Big Dog" moniker that does micros too.

As for Bud, Coors and all the other fizzy Amurrican water, I wouldn't even pour that on a burning man.
I dunno, at least it doesn't contain much alcohol to increase the flames.
That 24% stuff sounds like it would catch fire itself eek
