So far, I've checked out CNN, MSNBC, and the Fox News Channel.

Those are the main three... It's my understanding that Fox is #1 in the ratings among the three, followed by CNN, then MSNBC.

I watch MSNBC, myself... Why? Because the most prevalent anchor, Lester Holt, always looks like he's suppressing riotous laughter. He has no upper lip, and therefore it always looks like he's trying not to laugh. This is something I find strangely fascinating, and it makes me keep tuning in for more.

Oh, and they're also the most moderate network. Fox is definitely somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun on the political spectrum. CNN is relatively far left, and MSNBC seems ever so slightly to the right of center. Just where I like to be.

What's your favorite all-news network and why?
I find them all a bit disappointing. At a push, I will go to MSNBC first and if I need a laugh, will finally end up at Fox.

It is interesting hearing my parents description of American news from their point of view - they seem to dislike CNN the way some people dislike Fox. I don't think they are aware of how militant Fox is so I might just put it on one day and they can see for themselves without any priming from me.

All news channels are crap really. I'd like to see AP or Reuters raw footage and make my own mind up.

Yeah having the AP or Reuters newswire running at all times online is great!!
My husband works for Reuters (the British news agency). wink

http//www.reuters.com
Here in the great white north I go to our own CBC Newsworld first. BBC World second. CNN third and CTV Newsnet (sort of like CNN Headline News) fourth.
CNN Headline News fifth. Buffalo News just across the border sixth (mostly fires and local corruption).

I know plenty of people here who tune into CNN first and then go to the Canadian channels. BBC World is still a minority news channel here, as it's only available on digital, although it is re-broadcast on CBC Newsworld and PBS. I really love getting it though.

We also have a local 24 news channel called News 24 run by the CITY-TV /CHUM empire that is split-screen obsessed and gives me a headache within two minutes. It's good for local stuff though.

Our version of CNBC seems to be mostly business news and infomercials at night.

We don't get FOX News at all here.

I use websites and wires as much as I use TV and radio though. Reuters may rule the world, but they are absolutely first-rate. I trust a Reuters story over AP any day. Our own Canadian Press is quite good too.
