I am currently applying for my residency conditions to be lifted, after having arrived here on a K1 visa. I applied in September and received a letter from INS just before Christmas (my wife intercepted it and put it in my stocking, sweet). The letter was dated for the date when my old 2-year green card expired and is valid for 1 year. All I need to do when travelling abroad is take that and my old green card and I will be fine (according to my attorney). Also, the letter stated that the current waiting time (for unconditional, 10 year g. card) is approximately 6 months. We shall see about that, I know Nigel has been waiting over 18 months for his.
Anyway, I thought I'd share that news.
Oooh yey, congratulations Laurence. Aww, definitely a good Christmas gift. We're exactly 2 years behind you in the process. smile
best wishes, Jennie

Just a bit. It'll be 2 years next month since I first received notice of action to say that my application for removal of conditions was approved and that I'd get my green card in 6 months. I've already been down to the INS to file for a new green card (had to fill in form G731T) and last week I sent off another one.
Regards
Nigel
Nigel,
You'll probably be eligible for citizenship before you ever see your Green Card renewed. Will you just file for that or keep on the Green Card path?
