Good - anyone is better than having Watford in the Final. (They are not forgiven for their 1984 Semi-Final win over Argyle).
Did the Saints get a new ground or did they just build new stands at the existing ground? I hear tell that the same developer (Barr) built Southampton and Argyle's new stands.
A friend of a friend once offered the friend and I tickets to a Southampton game when we went round his house nearby early one Saturday morning to collect a debt - but my idiot friend said "No" and we didn't go. I think we missed seeing Liverpool visit and as their capacity was something like 17,000, tickets were like gold dust in that area.

It's a new ground by the airport, you pass right by it when getting the train into Southampton

It's not by the airport - it's in the town centre near the big gas pump thing that is a complete eyesore.
They wanted to build it out near the airport, where there is loads more space and better transport links, but in their "wisdom" S City Council decided it should be squashed in on a tiny road that goes from the Meridian TV studios to Ocean Village.
This I know as I've dropped Him and my Dad off there several times. We also went to the training ground last year and had photos taken with Paul Jones, the goalie.

Just know I've seen it off the train when pulling in/out Southampton, when travelling to Bournemouth

Do Meridian still have people like Fred Dinage on?

Good old Fred D.
Big Pompey fan.Yes he does still feature on Meridian TV
The old Southampton stadium was the Dell.
The new one is Saint Mary's.
If pompey beat Burnley tonight then they're in the Premiership and will be thrashing the Saints (AKA Scummers to any decent Pompey boy)at lest twice next season.
Lets not mention last saturday's game against Wednesday though sad

Agh, Buffalo Bloke - if I hadn't been born in Pompey I'd give you a piece of my mind for that comment....

Yup Pilgrim, Meridian News used to be South Today with the lovely Fred Dinage (I'm sure you'll remember from a previous thread that I've met him in person - lovely bloke).
The ground is supposed to be called "The Friends Provident ground" just like INspector Morse used to "Beamish Irish Stout's Inspector Morse" They sell sponsorship for anything these days.
