Haven't done it, but did look into it when I thought I might have to change jobs.
Your new employer has to file a new I-129 petition for you, which I think costs $1130.
The good thing is that once the petition is filed you can start work for the new employer straight away, without having to wait for your petition to be approved.
Of course your new petition could be rejected, in which case you're pretty stuffed, but its probably unlikely to happen.
The hardest thing would be finding an employer willing to stump up the thousand bucks in the first place, but if you're desperate to get a new job maybe you could offer to cover the filing fees?
