Ok, so my lady wife made my dinner (5pm, eavening meal, tea, whatever) a few days ago, and we had proper oil fried chips. I think there was a pork chop involved too, but I grabbed a few pieces of buttered bread and then proceeded to make a 'chip sarnie' and my God, anyone would have thought I had 3 heads the way she was looking at me.
"Thats Disgusting" she said, mortified at what I was doing.......
Potatos on bread is all it is.......
Has anyone else in these 'mixed' marraiges ventured to discuss chip sarnies?

Thing that disgust my family of Scots, (I am english) is my habit of piling up my food on my slice of fried bread if we have a fried breakfast. The egg goes first, then the tomotoes, top by bacon, black pudden and s. Its not a pretty sight but the blend of tastes is undescribable! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
No mixed marriage, but got the same reaction off a friend when I put some crisps in a sandwich the other day razz
The good old 'chip butty' is a menu item on the local pseudobritish pub here. Whats even better and guarateed to gross her out more is slopping gravy or curry sauce over the chips in the bread. Mmmm-mmmm

My son's friend was horrified the other day when I asked him if he wanted onions on his hot dog! cool
I have had the look of horror when I have put mayonnaise on my chips... German/Dutch influence there. lol

Surely american peanut butter and jam sarnies are the digusting ones eek

I prefer a "piece an' chips" myself.

First time I made myself a chip butty over here Mrs Rude was not at all impressed. Then she took a mouthful and her tune rapidly changed. Try giving the missus a mouthful of your goodies next time, she'll like it after that...

That sounded completely wrong didn't it... roll

Yep, I'm afraid you get the 'Fnarr, Fnarr, Arf, Arf'

lol
VRB, trust you to lower the tone of a chip buttie.

Dawn, you will never guess what I am having for my lunch today - crisp buttie, salt and vinegar flavour of course grin

I think the one thing that has grossed people out here more than anything has to be the smell of marmite. I have had more turned up noses to that than anything else.

KG, I love mayo on my chips. Much better than ketchup. razz

Manc, sorry, not from a mixed marriage, so can't help you there, 'cause hubby and I gross each other out with the same things lol

I don't know if I should laugh or be grossed out. (Wait.. laugh at the unintended meaning .. gross out over the fry sammich)

French fry sammich is all that was. Nothing but fries and bread. *shrugs* That was all.
He does think I am mad tho when I put applesause on my mashed potatoes.

Are you pregnant? That's got to be one of the most bizarre combos I've ever heard of...
