Help
I'm desperate to find a good banger to make a decent toad-in-the-hole!
I can only seem to get chicken and apple, although these are great on the bbq, they dont have what it's got to make the dish

Where are you located?

Andrew
Hey Zippy
I'm in San Mateo, 20 miles south of San Fran.
You near Monterey?
Try this website, I have not bought any myself, but have heard from friends they are excellent.

Hello MMF...

Well, Capitola is actually right next door to Santa Cruz. Monterey is just down the road a bit, about a 20/30 minute drive.

They actually stock those sausages at the Brittania Arms Brit Food shop here in Aptos (I seem to remeber) as well as pies, black puddin' and other stuff. (Lot's of other stuff).

You might want to give them a call first if you plan on making the trip down here...

Even, Golden Wonder and Walkers crisps!

The supermarket chain that includes Rays food place sells "British Bangers."
I know they have stores all over the West coast.
Taste/texture wise? Not bad if use your imagination! lol
Thanks you guys
Melhug, we dont have Rays down this neck of the woods but thanks anyway!
Ju
Actually MMM,

Ray's own Nob Hill Foods, so you might want to take a peek in there. And most of them will be more than happy to take a private order.

Andrew smile
Thanks again Andrew
You must sspend a helluva lotta time helping people?
What a star!

We have a NHF close to where my husband works, I'll try there.
Actually I've seen "British Bangers in some supermarkets freezers, but they look a bit insipid.
All the best
Ju

Any firm white fish, cod, rock cod, eve talipia works well. But I'm a cod fan so I use that.

I have also done salmon too. It's actually rather good for a change, although the oil will be shot and you'll have to ditch it after one use (although I never use oil more than 3 times).

Andrew

If you live near a Fresh Fields..they have an"Irish Banger" that is the best I have found here yet.
