Hi all
I recently entered the US and gave them my big envelope from the US Embassy. They took me to the front of the queue at the airport and after a fingerprint an a signature, I was through and on my way. I was a resident!
Two days later, I filed for a Social Security number and it arrived a week later !
And to cap it all, my Green Card arrived just three weeks after my entering the US, not the 3-6 months the INS had said it may take.
I know you're probably thinking - lucky git right - well, yes, but it took five years with the INS just to get all the paperwork together. Just wanted to say that it's worth it in the end, and that sometimes, just sometimes, the system works like a dream.
Now, just gotta find that job in Seattle....
Cheers
Gary
