I was just reading the amexpats site and someone mentioned that Quorn (the veggie high protein meat substitute) has recently gone on trial in the US. I was even more happy to see that some local supermarket chains (Wholefoods - which I think is nationwide?) and King's are selling it so I'll have to go and check. smile

Here is their new US website and store locator where you can find it. I know that UK Mocha is a veggie so she will be happy razz . I'm not a veggie myself, but I'll certainly use Quorn if I can get some... cool

I've never tried Quorn before but I checked out the website and there's a Health Food shop about ten minutes away that carries their products.

I'll definitely pay them a visit soon.

When British Beef officialy went postal and was declared unfit to eat I went for Quorn. Any meal that required ground beef I substituted quorn for, made it beefy so it tasted exactly like beef and hey presto, taco's and chalupa's!
I actually 'bullied' my local super market to start selling the stuff. There was nowhere selling it in my town so I wrote continuosly to my local Publix suggesting it. A couple of weeks later they called me to say they'd got some in...
