unless of course India beat Pakistan and the Netherlands beat Zimbabwe then the Pakistan-Zimbabwe game is rained off all day. Seems the second case might be more likely. sad

What would happen if the match was rained off and they split the points ??
Now theres an interesting scenario... smile It might just work...
So its just a case of breaking out the prayer mats then, solved
Yeah, we may become the 'Jammy Buggers' of the cricket world, but... grin
All the Indians in the office keep looking at me then smiling, even the ones that don't know me!
The ones here don't bother - they know I rate cricket at the same low mark as baseball, although they were kind enough to invite me along to watch all the games with them if I wanted. I've been providing them with a projector for all the World Cup matches.
Although, edging out Zimbabwe because of rain against Australia would of course be justice prevailing since they grabbed all four points for our boycott of the game there.
just checked out the weather forecast for Port Elizabeth and its not promising rain. They should be playing it here in Tampa, they could at least be claiming bad light its so miserable pout there
EVEN if we beat Australia, we're screwed if Zimbabwe beat Pakistan. sad
So near and yet so far. Just a couple of runs in it at the death, but they did at least put up a fight.

Now we just need Pakistan to beat Zimbabwe, in a low scoring game, and we're through on net run rate.

Go Pakistan!!!!
Yep, they sure put up a good fight against the Aussies.

Seems like you need a PhD in Maths to figure out what happens if Pakistan beat Zimbabwe. We do have the best run rate so that is a good omen for scraping into the Super Sixes.

Yes, we need Pakistan to beat Zimbabwe, but i have read if Pakistan thrashes them, Paskistan gets in, not England. So, we need them to win, but not by a lot.

bvamin
Its time to put away the slide rules and pocket calculators for another 4 years as the rain has had the last say, and leaves England in the company of SA in gazing ruefully at the heavens
Yep, kicked out of the World Cup by rain. And the World Cup Jammy Bugger 2003 award goes to...Zimbabwe... My first scenario would have worked if the Dutch got their arses in gear sad
