Monster mentioned she might support Luton Town in another thread, which reminded me that Kennilworth Road is probably one of the worst footy stadiums I've had the misfortune to visit.

It is quite a bizarre place, if you've never been. To get in the away stand (Oak Road I think it is called), you have to walk up into a row of terraced houses. It is truly weird. When you get in the stand, it is a fight to get a seat that doesn't have some form of visual obstruction and then you realise you have no legroom whatsoever.

One whole side of the ground is just director's boxes - atmosphere killer or what?

So there's my nomination - who would you suggest?
Didn't they used to ban away fans and have a plastic pitch? Must have been like a morgue there. I remember Oxford had an important relegation clash there and we had to watch it on closed circuit TV because away fans were banned.

I did?

My vote would be highbury because it stinks of red sh*te. evil
Without a doubt it has to be Dens Park, home of Dundee FC. Tannadice across the road is pretty bad,, but Dens is the pits.

Imagine a Blue tin shed, on a hill, in Dundee, with freezing wind ripping through it so the corrugated tin rattles and moans alarmingly.
Then imagine a seat consisting of a plank of wood, laid on top of the original terracing, with your seat number painted on it.
Then, worst of all, imagine the ****e you must be seeing on the pitch if your watching a Dundee home game!!

Happy times grin
Got to be Shrewsbury Town's, home fans stand on the open terrace but the away fans get the covered stand, work that one out. Plus the fact if the ball is kicked out the ground along one side, its off down the river Severn to the Bristol Channel.
And of course theres the name...
Ok, the original hatters, born in 1881 from Heaton Norris hat factory was Heaton Norris Rovers now Stockport County. Not the aforementioned nickname plagarising Luton Town.
Following Stockport for a few years led me to many a **** ground, a lot of times it was Edgeley Park, but you kinda get to look at a few dumpy grounds in the lower leagues.
Bellevue - Doncaster Rovers was a particular ground I dreaded, it was a veritible crapheap. Another ground I really disliked was the Racecourse ground in Wrexham, For Wrexham, the ground was ok, but for years it played host to numerous Welsh International games. England played there as did Germany, and for that it was totally unsuitable. But the real absolute dump was Bloomfield Road Blackpool. It is aweful.

Yeah Shrewsbury Town was pretty bad. They seemed to have one side of the ground that was half decent and the rest which was c**p. And of course if the ball didn't float off in the river, it ended up on the railway track..

Cambridge United is another dodgy one that comes to mind.

Of course, the previous 'stadium' that my team used wasn't exactly Wembley (well you know what I mean). The new stadium that I haven't yet been to seems pretty good even though it does have 3 sides...
