Is anyone here an MLS fan? By that I mean does anyone support a team and go to all the matches? If so, how does it compare to footy in the UK?
When i lived in Va me and a load of english buddies used to go to see DC United ,screaming eagles was the supporters name ,they where tops then won the championship 3 years in a row .

Now they suck and i dont have a team near me ,nearest being in dallas .

They compere pretty well to the AVERAGE brit team .
No where near the style and class of teams like Chelsea , Man United , Arsenal thou ,and the rules where a litte differant, up to a few seasons ago they had this stupid sudden death best of penalty kicks if the teams tied ....
I went to watch Kansas City a few years back. was pretty cool to be going to a live game again.
However I would have liked to think that my Stockport County could've had em'

Have the Hatters ever had anybody?

I'm an A-League (or more precisely Richmond Kickers) fan. Which is one division below MLS.

I've told the story so many times people on here are probably sick of hearing about it. Although the quality in the US may be a little lower than the EPL or even Division One, I don't care! You can get just as excited if you ally yourself with a team, victory is just as sweet and defeat is just as painful. I hardly ever went to Anfield when I lived in England, whereas I go to just about every Kickers home game and some away games too. I love it - the players really appreciate your support and it's so much more personal.

I've said it before, if you have a local team go and support them - the quality might be lower but you'll have a blast.

Are you a closet Loo-town fan then?

I'd support the Hatters if anyone, although I do have a soft spot for Birmingham City as whenever I went to watch them they won, so I was given a club badge.

Other than that I just support England.

I'm more interested in watching a good game.

Richmond Kickers? Are they in the same league as the Charleston Nutters? Or the Arlington Punchers? Sounds like a rugby team to me

I've been enjoying the MISL Indoor league on a Friday night on Fox Sports World. It is a cross between Hockey and Footy. very entertaining.

MLS football is like watching a third division side trying to play like Brazil. They have obviously watched a bit of football and sort of know what they should be doing but haven't got the skill to do it.

I reckon that any team that stuck a couple of ex-basketball players up front and employed some 1980's Wimbledon long ball tactics would win the league at a trot.

Actually you're not that far off - it's the Charleston Battery (booooo!). I'm not a big fan of the names, but there are bigger battles to fight (until this season it used to be 4 points for a win plus a bonus point for 3+ goals).

And in defence of the A-League, players such as Terry Phelan (Charleston), Ian Bishop (Syracuse) and Gary Ablett (Formerly of the Long Island Rough Riders) have played there. Steve Nicol also started his coaching career in the A-League with the Boston Bulldogs.
I play footy for a local team (obviously we are indoor at the mo) and virtually all those guys are Premier League fans. And we are all off to watch Man Utd play Barcelona in Philedelphia in a couple of months.
I went to a few Kansas City Wiz matches. They lived up to their name and played like wiz.

The only football I see here in LV is the Latinos on the weekend in the local park. Everyone else seems to think that football is only suitable for girls - which is fine by me cuz I think Amurrican Football is rugby for jessies.
