ok this may be a silly question, but i really don't know the answer.

both me and my wife need to fill one of these in, the first question is when it asks for the "applicants residence for the last five years" are they asking for mine (i am immigrating to the us and my wife is the US citizen) or my wifes last 5 yrs, and seeming we both have to fill in a form each does each form only pertane to our own info.

second question it also asks for "applicants last address outside of the united states of more than one year" i don't get why they are asking for this when presumably i would ahve already answered it in the first question.

please help this is driving me crazy.
When I went through this in 2001 my wife and I each completed a G-325A biographical form and we each put in our own previous addresses. You may have to repeat some of the information you give to the INS but it is always best to answer their questions rather that trying to second guess them, even if this does mean writing the same thing more than once.
I agree with nicholas-ts, you may find your asked indirectly to repeat yourself numerous times while going through this process. It's time consuming but worth it in the end.

just so i am clear, when it says applicant is it simply asking whoever is filling out their own bio form to fill it out as thereselves, i.e. one for me and one for my wife, sorry for seeming dumb.
The G325a is a multi-purpose form - it is not designed just for one class of immigrants. Just answer the questions it asks, even if they seem spurious.

To be clear, your wife is the applicant on her form, and you are the applicant on your form. Don't worry that the terms are different from the petition and visa/AOS forms.
