Suprised no-one has mentioned this yet...

England get Argentina, Sweden and Nigeria - the "Group of Death" (reminds me of Eddie Izzard). Anyway, I think we have a chance - if we can beat or draw (no Penalty's in the group stages) Argentina early on we'll be in good shape. Of course the media have gone all pessimistic back home, but I think we're in with a shout.
I think that England have a good chance too of winning the World Cup. Fair enough, its a tough group but Argentina are beatable and I think the England lads will be pumped up for the game. I think that Nigeria and Sweden are beatable too, and I know before I get to carried away, something always seems to go wrong for England; whether it be penalties or seeding calculations it never goes our way does it??!!
At the moment England hasnt won anything or lost anything yet so until the time they actually play I'll keep it positive for now.
By the way did anyone see the draw for the USA team? theyve got a tricky draw too. Theyve got Korea Portugal and Poland.
I think for me personally one of the best things about living here is that you get to support both England and the USA!! I'd be torn if they had to play each other!!!

All my regards
Alan
I remember returning from two weeks of sun-drenched Florida, just in time for the last England/Argentina world cup meeting. After cramming into various Brit pubs on Florida’s Gulf coast, being home for the next phase was well received. The game was going well, the bar was crammed, quite an engaging encounter of two quality sides on form. Then came the infamous Beckham kick to bring on a battling performance, not seen since the days of a blood drenched Terry Butcher. To get the rematch back in the world cup brings tingles of anticipation, an experience to remember along with the many I already have. We don’t really expect to win it, but on our day we have been the best there is since Euro96. Those famous games, even the loosing ones (Vs Italy 90) are the stuff footie dreams are made of…
i think we stand a pretty good chance of winning the world cup Argentina is not the force it was and sweden should be no problem Nigeria mmm that team can beat you on a good day ..What we need is a little luck a healthy team and Beckham to keep his temper in check .... RULE BRITANNIA

Mmmmm, don't agree with you there. Argentina are easily one of the best teams in the World, better than Brazil and could quite easily give France a run for their money. I still think the England boys will be up for it though, even a draw would be a good result as long as we don't slip up against Sweden and Nigeria (two countries we should be capable of beating). Also, we need to try and win the group - otherwise its (probably) France in the next round

I'm always curious as to what the "anthem" will be.

One of my favourtite world cups songs was New Orders' "World in Motion"...

Andrew
That was good, but you can't beat Three Lions for a footie song.
