After reading the recent post from Britem I realised that I had not really thought about a U.S. drivers lincence. I just wonder how difficult it would be for me in South Carolina.
There are unusual circumstances in that I am at present a non-driver having never needed to drive as public transport gets me where I want to go. However transport in S.C. is non-existent. Yes, I do know I am a rare breed being a forty two year old male and never driven!!. Also I am an insulin dependent diabetic, anyone know how this may affect my application?.
Thanks.
Marty
It does not make a difference.
Not that unusual, Marty -a couple of our members are just learning to drive

and like nairoo, I don't think the diabetes has any bearing on your ability to get a licence.

Hope this helps.
insulin injection dependency will prevent you obtaining a commercial licence (for a truck or bus) but I'm guessing you're not likely to be wanting one of those anyway, but thought I would point it out for the benefit of anyone else.
BTW this isn't a rule that varies from state to state, commercial licences are governed by Federal regulations (of which this is one) as well as state and local laws.
scouser -where have you been? haven't seen you posting for ages!
Marty, if you are a 42 year old diabetic that has never driven before, you'll still beat the americans hands down lol lol lol lol

There's that ugly problem of having to work, I can be away from home for days (sometimes weeks) at a time and when I get back here there are more important things to take care of than posting in forums (if you get my drift).

*sniff* yes, I understand cry

I'll try not to miss you in future. sad
