As part of expanding and redesigning Britnet, I would like to encourage people to volunteer for various positions. This will help us quickly expand and be more competative with other expat sites.
Each state will gets its own seperate website such as http//www.tx.british-expats.com, http//www.ma.british-expats.com etc. As a side from this, if there is anyone who would like to do Canadian provinces and other counties (Yes, we can have dk.british-expats.com or es.british-expats.com) then we can handle that too.
We will have a standard layout sheet that would need to be maintained for each state.
Also, volunteers are needed to research and funish the 'webmaster' for each state with information. Please volunteer for as many states as you wish. I will do Texas and you'll be able to see it as an example.
As mentioned, researchers are needed to find British stores, pubs, and basically anything in the state remotely British.
The next position is for someone who would like to keep up to date with media. Ie, maintaining a list of British radio and TV stations on the net, local expat sites back in the UK.
Next I would like to setup a small advocacy group to promote the work of the other volunteers by getting Britnet listed on other expat related websites by way of reciprocal links. No HTML knowledge required.
The emphasis is on "We're all in this together".
As you can see, there are a lot of plans for Britnet and I just don't have the time to do it all myself.
To make sure all gets done that needs to be done, MacZippy is going to handle replies and I'll be accountable to him to get things setup properly. If you are interested then send Maczippy a private message stating your interests and your knowledge level as far as computers go. We'll have an online training session if needed.
Regards
Nigel
