Hi all you valley folks. Anyone up for a meet we have some new arrivals and it would be nice to all get together. Den, how about it, you're the organising wizard! grin
Hi Annie,
Sure - let's get together again. The last time we got together in Cupertino, it was very convenient for me, but further for everyone else, so choose a place more convenient for you, if you want. Are there any other British-style pubs around ?
Anytime in the next 3 weeks is fine.
Dave.
My Mum and Aunt are coming out for a month starting next week (Thurs) so its a bit busy at the moment.
But they are off to Vegas 23-26th so that would be a good time.

The pub English pub in downtown Campbell is nice or the other one in Cupertino - on Wolf... if we wanted to try a new one.

Maybe going for a quiz night might be good?

Tuesday is quiz night at the Kings's Head in Campbell, so how about meeting there on Tues 24 Sept , at 700pm.

Here's info about the pub

Dave.
oh my god, I can't tell you how jealous I am after reading that menu.

I'm sick to my stomache.

I could kill (for example), the toad in the hole, and tens of other things, plus the trifle, or treacle sponge and custard.

DO YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU LOT ARE !!!!!

Enjoy !

sorry Dave, we can't make the 24th.

Its Roy's birthday and we already have something planned.

Denise
Hi everyone,

I thought I'd better make a contribution to this invitation as I emailed you all as the 'newbie on the block' grin I'll fit in with any arrangements that the majority can come to an agreement on ( how democratic is that !? ). Obviously I'd like to meet as many of you as poss. so here's hoping it all fits together.

I'll be at the King's Head on Tuesday @ 7pm unless it's re-arranged. Shame Den can't make it.

Looking forward to it.

Mark

Hi Mark,

So far, it looks like it will be just the 2 of us, next Tuesday, plus perhaps my son (Canadian-born, but British by descent).

Dave.

Dave, we'll try, may be a nit late, work and all, but hopefully see you there. grin
Sorry guys, 7pm is just too early, him indoors coming from Palo Alto and then back up to Campbell. Maybe next time. Hope you won at the quiz. Hack Hack. Very smokey down here!

Annie,

Sorry you couldn't make it. There were 4 of us at the pub on Tues. The quiz was entertaining, but we did pretty badly - we obviously don't watch enough TV sitcoms, or US sports, or know who all the latest pop and rap singers are.
Is the smoke clearing yet - it isn't affecting us up here.

Dave.

Dave, well the smoke comes towards us over night and then turns about 11am and heads away. The back yard is covered with white ash and this sticky black oily stuff, from the succulents I guess.
So now the oleander soup has a little more flavor lol
So who turned up, and how come you didn't know your sitcoms, she said, knowing about two! roll grin

The people who turned up were:
- Mark (moved from UK in the past month)
- Me + charming wife + son

I only watch the sitcoms that my wife forces me to watch (Sienfeld + Everybody loves Raymond). Also we don't have cable or a satellite dish, so I guess I'm missing out on lots of popular culture.

Dave.

Trust me, you're not...

I second that (and am ditching my digital cable in January - total toss!)
