Okay, I have now found one of the most exquisite American brews known to man...

Right now, I can't get enough of the stuff (in moderation of course  )

It's this:

Lagunitas Brown Shugga...

If you can get this try some. Even Emily (my wife, who's not a big beer fan, but likes an IPA from time to time), likes this...

So, the question to be asked is, what's your favourite Winter Warmer?

Andrew
They also have a website too!

Andrew!
I don't know if this counts as a winter warmer but does anyone have a recipe for a good Christmas punch. I am having a party on the 8th of December and need a punch recipe, fruity but with an alcoholic kick. Without cinnamon please, because I can't stand the stuff. Thanks
I'm on it...

Check back here next week. (I'm not a big fan of the old cinamamamamamaamon either).

Andrew
Cinnamon- It seems a lot of Brits dont like it. Could it be because its less common in Britain? I was really surprised when I came to England and found that apple pies here dont have cinnamon in them. I dont think you can get a commercially made apple pie in the states *without* cinnamon in it.

Bevvies ONe of my fave winter warmers is a Tom and Jerry. I havent found anything like it here in Britain. Its kind of like a hot eggnog with rum and brandy in it. I have a recipe for it somewhere, might have to make it!
I was given some eggnog with rum on Thanksgiving and it was yummy. NatalieC, please post your recipe. We were wondering if you could warm eggnog or would it turn into an omelette or something ???

You might have some difficulty in finding eggnog in England, can't remember ever seeing it, but perhaps I just didn't notice it.

Have to admit, my fave winter warmer is a nice hot cup of tea.

My fave alcoholic drink is Tetley's bitter - which I can't find here, so any bitter will do (usually Boddingtons)
You can't get Tetly's?

Try here

They might be able to ship it to you!

Mmmm, I love this subject!
One of my favourite "instant" warmers, is warmed apple juice with ginger and rum mixed in.

I just stick a cup of juice in the microwave, zap it for a couple of minutes then add the other ingredients. You can add sugar if you like it sweeter, but if you put enough rum in, you'll never know miss the sugar!

Isn't Advocaart (sp) the same as egg nog? I know it makes a wonderful base to a snowball, but what are the other ingredients?

Thanks for the link, now if only you could convince my wife that spending $15 on a 4-pack of beers is perfectly okay.

Of course it is...

Tell her I said it was okay. smile
