Hi everyone,

can anyone please help me in where to find either Greek Yoghurt, or better still Tzaziki itself.

I've looked in SS&S, Shaws & Big Y .... no luck.

Thanks,

Here's a simple recipe for Tzatziki

1 cucumber (English preferably, seeds removed), finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
2 small cloves garlic, crushed
4oz greek-style yoghurt (see note below too)

To make the tzatziki, place the cucumber, mint, garlic and yoghurt in a bowl and mix well.

If you cannot for the life of you get a hold of Greek style yoghurt (and most health food stores should carry it - if there good health food stores that is), you can make a close approximation by adding several tablespoons of regular yoghurt (not low fat) to 8oz of full fat sour cream. Then place in a cheesecloth lined sieve and let excess liquid drain into a bowl.

Chill the resulting product well before using. You may need to thin if it is too thick...

Or, as you live in MA, you might be able to find a Trader Joes, they make a wonderful tzatziki in two sizes, 1 cup tub and a 2 cup tub. It's very good.

Nicky, we have a trader joes here if there isn't one near you. I seem to remember Jim saying he has been to a trader joes. Just don't know where.

Just don't go there if you're hungry....

They also have a good range of British beers and ciders too...(well in our branch at least!)

You may be able to get one at Wild Oats, if you have one near you.
Maczippy, the ones over here aren't as big as the ones in CA, unfortunately. sad

Ours, though, you do get a few beers. Just a few though, not a good selection.
