Hi guys
I have my visa interview at the US Embassy in London in just over 2 weeks time.
My wife's family are sponsoring me and have filled out an avvidavit of support (I-864)and have also sent me copies of their tax returns (1040's) for the last 3 years.
Does anyone know if the Embassy will look only at the 1040's, or do they also need to see all the accompanying tax schedules that US citizens also have to fill out sometimes(such as Schedule A,B,C D or E)?
Cheers

last JUne when i had the K1 visa process at the embassy in London .. All my worriers were unfounded..
They take a quick glance at most ..I CAN"T EMPHASIZE THIS THOUGH ..MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING ... then they look at the originals and will keep your copies ..
IF like a few people you don't have the required doccumentation they seem to be pretty good at accepting your valid documents and letting you obtain the missing ones and return when you get them.. instead of the usuall 5 week wait lol which is a nightmare .. My problem was waiting for my police record from Scotland Yard to arrive.. Good luck and don't worry..
hey you got 2 weeks .. get them to send all the stuff if you are worried ..people say more is best ..just in case you get a weirdo that wants it all.. But my experience was friendly and not the big ordeal its made out to be..
If you haven't had the jabs yet for the medical .. get them done at your local doctors otherwise you will have to pay big bucks at the medical ok..
also get to the medical early if its the same day as your interview as a queu starts early..
then when youre done go straight to the embassy and you will be proceesed faster and you should have your visa early in thre afternoon..
any questions just ask ok or email me..
The rules say that you give them the *entire* tax return, including all schedules and attachments. They may not look at them in detail (who knows what goes on between the interview time and 1pm?), but they will expect to see more than a 2-page return. They *will* check that the number on the I-864 matches the number on the 1040.
youre right . its a quick glance but they want to see all the darn stuff on the itemised check list that was given to you..
just gey your sponsors to send over everything not pidgeon post ..fed express is good
originals or certified copies ok
Thanks for the advice guys.
Do I only need the schedule's for the bits of the 1040 that are filled in?
(I know this sounds obvious, but I know the people there can be a little bit officious and I want to have everything!)
Thanks for the advice on the medical antbax. I actually trie dto get my jabs this morning from my gp, but guess what, the nurse who does jabs is away for 3 weeks and back the day after my interview. I guess its big bucks for me!
One of my shots I need is MMR. I have had a measles jab as a kid, but not mumps and not rubella, which was just for girls when I was a kid. Is having the MMR, having already had a measles jab pretty safe?
I know I must sound like a paranoid nut, but I do relax sometimes, though I cannot wait for my interview and to get the heck out of London !!
Cheers

ask ameriscot about the schedule stuff ok as he's seems mor knowledgebale..
go to the outpatients at local hospital and try and get jabs ..should still be free ok.. will save you a few bucks..
Hey don't panic its goes pretty fast on the day and boy it feels good when they give you that k1 visa..
have a good breakfast at macdonalds ok ..its right by the doctors..
are you doing doctors 8am and then embassy at 10 ?
let us know what happens ok
hey relax and look at my ghost picture ..it will take your mind of the crazy paperwork ok lol
You need copies of what was sent to the IRS - nothing more, nothing less.
As for the jabs the only ones that are of relevence are the MMR and the TD (tetanus-diptheria). The only one you can get free on the NHS is the TD, if you need it. If you have proof that you've had it in the last 10 years, then you won't need it for the visa medical. If you are already immune to measles, having as second measles jab shouldn't bother you.
your wrong about the mra ..in hertfordshire i got it done free and i wasn't even registered with a doctor in that town..
check it out as i will save you a few bob
They didn't have to give it to you for free. They did it out of the goodness of their hearts, or rather by being negligent of their budgets. They should not give travel vaccinations for free. The only reason the TD is free is because it is part of standard NHS care (a booster every 10 years).
well the scots are reknowned for being a bit tight with the money.. anything to save a bbob or twoo to help the scottish parliment out lol.. but at least the scotish whiskey is better than the cheap canadian slop ???
