Yours truly got naturalised on monday, and thank god l won't have to deal with the INS anymore ! smile for anyone that's interested, the 7 questions were
1.What is the Constitution
2.Who is the governor of Florida
3.What is the White House
4.What is the supreme law of the land
5.Where does "Freedom of speech" come from
6.How long are Senators elected for
7.How long are representatives elected for

Cheers
CONGRATULATIONS! It is well worth the wait, though. Good for you! They only asked me 7 too because I got them all right. How long did you spend studying the books and how much of a waste of time did it turn out to be re the test? I think I could answer all the test questions in the book correctly and none of them were in the test!

Good for you anyway - and many happy years in the US to you smile
Congratulations and what a wonderful achievement. You must be floating on cloud 9 now grin

I always thought I would never go for my citizenship, but I have a feeling I might change my mind. smile
Congrats on becoming a citizen .
And if its not already been said welcome to the board .
Are you going to keep your UK nationality???
Congratulations!

I too have been toying with idea of becoming a citizen... Each day that passes makes me think it might be good idea.

How expensive was it? (If you don't mind me asking?) grin

congrats, fi brit 59, i had to wait an extra two years, because i wanted to take my test, and be sworn in, in santa barbara, the court house was just around the corner from my home, they asked about eight questions, i got one wrong, [ who is the justice of the supreme court? ] i should have known that.SLAP....ouch....welcome aboard

Think about it Joonmoon the kids nowadays hardly know the answers to ANY of the eight questions ,us immigrants seem to more about the country and who it works than the indigenous population

Thankyou all for your congrats, most appreciated smile to answer some of the questions, no l didn't study too much for the test, the questions are kid's stuff really, there are one or 2 that l had to try and remember regarding how long senators/reps and the President are elected for and how many times can each be re-elected,and of course had to memorise the original 13 states but the others weren't too difficult. And yes l'm most certainly keeping my UK citizenship,l'd never give that up.As for the cost of it,l believe the INS fee for naturalisation was $255,just a one time payment which you pay when filing,as with all the other forms, apart from that there was no other expense.Compared to applying for residency/changing status or removing conditions, the wait is very short and seems as though INS have got their act together when it comes to nauralisation,at least that was my experience.I'd advise anyone to go for it..you've got nothing to lose (apart from $255 !) Thanks again all
Congratulations to you.

I think we have to wait about 4 years before we can try for citizenship, but we're definately going to go for it.
