What is going on 'back home'? I read the sports news to discover that in some bizarre public relations exercise, Michael Jackson is paraded around at St. James' Park (no, not the one up north - the sad, southern version) as an honorary director of Exeter City. I suppose he fits in well there as they were always regarded as a bunch of freaks.
Weirdest part for me is that I read it was all organised by Uri Geller, spoon bender and bulls*itter extraordinaire, who is apparently a City director. Funny but I could have sworn I saw him at Wembley several years ago, disguised as a Reading director. Fickle git.
Didnt this happen a couple of weeks ago ? I think I see it on either sky sports news or I heard it the BBC world service?
When I heard this story it wasnt just the bizarreness of Michael Jackson which just caught my eye, it was, as Mark said, the fact that Uri Geller was involved in it? because after all Geller was involved with The Royals? Mr. Geller did have a mansion in Berkshire. Geller said a few years ago that Reading were going to beat Man Utd in an FA cup tie, but, unfortunately they got beat!! Thats when Cantona did his ESP celebration after he scored. One of the staff at the club said that Geller was costing them a fortune in spoons and forks!! lol
According to what I heard Uri Geller is a close friend of 'The King Of Pop' and I suppose that shouldnt come as suprise because when Geller's around there's always something bent!! lol
You're right Alan - it was a couple of week back but I only just got around to picking up the gossip from Plymouth and of course, they were all incredulous there.
Geller makes out like he was in Mossad, some kind of war hero and has personally met aliens so his credibility has never been that high in my book. I bet Reading were glad to see the back of him.
I did laugh at your parting shot smile
Exeter city has enought problems as it is with out adding Wacko Jacko.
