My husband and I have done all this once before, we were sent here two weeks after our wedding in 1979. We stayed for five years and had two daughters. In 1984 we went back home and had a son. In March 2001 my husband shocked me by telling me that his company needed someone with knowledge of the US market to look after their operation in Virginia!
My life is anything but boring!
I am an RN and a midwife. I was a clinical nurse specialist for GP at home, dealing with women and childrens health. I did a law degree in 1992 but although I enjoyed the degree itself I found law deathly boring so I went back to nursing.
After a year as a school nurse here I have decided to go back to Midwifery at the local hospital for which they are prepared to pay me an obscene amount of money ( great!)
I like Virginia but I find the narrow-mindedness and open racism difficult to deal with, I am white, but I abhor bigotry in all things.
Who knows how long we will stay? Go with the flow! grin
