ok - I'll bit the bullet....
when are we going to have a get together??

I know there are a few of you out there and there's 2 here who would love to meet for drinkies and/or food.

Can we come up with a plan??? smile
I am . . . I think. I have two boys, so my options are limited
We could always zoom down to Mczee land and spend the weekend. Monterey is due a visit . . . .
Do you have offspring, or are your options open!
How about a drink, and fish and chips, at the Britannia Arms, on De Anza in Cupertino, one evening this week (best avoid the 4th July though).

Dave.
hi both

no - no sprogs as yet - got to get around to it soon though smile

Can do Britannia Arms - how about Wed.?

Also, love a visit down to coast - we were thinking of going on Thurs. for a spot of cycling and wine-tasting. Mczee has been v. quiet so maybe he's hoping we don't turn up there
grin

Wednesday is fine. How about 7:00pm ?

Are there any others in the south bay area that want to join in ?

Dave.

My wife and I will be driving down the coast this weekend, (hopefully, if car is fixed) if anybody fancies a pint and a natter,
matt
hi Dave

how will we recognise you? Red flower?

We look English ??? sort of pink (don't tan) but that may not be enough???

As you probably know the pub better - will you be in a specific area?
Kentish Lad - give us an approx. timetable and we'll try to meet up. smile

Hi Den,

I don't think I look particularly English any more (people I work with think that I look French) so I'll wear a blue T-shirt that says "Plymouth Massachussets" on the front so you can recognise me.
Also, I'll sit out of the front patio, under one of the "Bass Ale" sunshade things.
I'll try to get another family member to come along as well - my son is British by descent and likes putting on a cockney accent.

I guess you know where the pub is. If not, here's a link:
http://www.britanniaarms.com/cupertino.html

The pub is descibed as being in Cupertino, but the address is given as San Jose:
1087 S. De Anza Blvd, San Jose

See you Wednesday, Den.
Is anyone else coming ?

Dave.

great Dave - are you a bitter man??? grin
Be nice to get some real beer for a change!

My husband's coming but I think that's it ???
Don't know what I'll be wearing - have to consult my extensive wardrobe but no doubt it will feature shorts and t-shirt. See you on the patio!

Hey mczee - we're planning on going to Monterey Thurs but may be down Capitola over the weekend - be nice to cool down its hot, hot, hot here cool

There will be 2 of us - my lovely wife (she's American/Canadian) says she would enjoy a beer or two, or perhaps three. (Why am I always the designated driver ?).

We'll get there a little before 7pm to take advantage of the happy hour, that ends at 7.

Cheers,
Dave.

aha - no one mentioned Happy Hour ???
we'll no doubt be there earlier in that case grin

Annie and husband(?) and mysterious Welshman is also hoping to meet up.
You lot are lucky down in the Cupertino/San Jose area. My old schoolfriend lives in nearby Sunnyvale and his local is the "Duke of Edinburgh".

I had some lovely fish n'chips in there and some very nice beer (Boddingtons). razz

Maybe you could go on a pub crawl! lol

The Duke of Ed. is just across the road from where I work, so I've had a few afer-work drinks there - quite a pleasant place.

Dave.
