Decided to bore everyone with my Netflix Queue movies.
Saturday is my Netflix day and the next movie in my queue was
Fight Club. Anyone seen this rather strange movie? Unfortunately I fell asleep in the middle (probably because I wasn't enjoying it all that much), but it seemed terribly
well-acted. It really looked like Norton and Pitt were really bashing the bejesus out of each other.
Stay tuned for next Saturday's installment. (Oh, the excitement.

)
I just watched "Adam's Apples" what is a Danish movie (greatly simplified plot) about a nazi skinhead who has to bake an apple pie. It's actually pretty funny if you like black humour.
I quite liked "Fight Club" but don't need to see it again.
I just had "In the Loop" from Netflix which was a Britnet recommendation and as promised, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Been waiting weeks now for "Inglorious Basterds" but it is probably going to be a while longer. Love how Netflix charge you more for Blu-Ray and at the same time tell you how few of them they actually have

We saw it at the movies. Not bad. Definitely my least favorite Tarantino movie. If I love a movie, I see it at least twice. I would hate to see this movie a second time.
Love my netflix queue.
if it wasnt for netflix there would be many independent / experimental /foreign movies you could never see
blockbuster and other national chains certainly wont carry them them and the independent movie theatres that showed them are mostly closed .
a few of them you might be lucky enought to find in walmart or blockbuster but the chances are if they are of european origin they are most likely cut.
especially if they are R rated or labled no rating
the library of titles netflix possess is greater then any store could hold ...
netflix movies are uncut ( unless they are released that way)
look for comments on them by viewers like yourself . that way you can get a idea of what the movies contains and weather it might offend you .
..dont trust the professional critics they say whatever they are paid for . ....
had netflix for years now almost since its conception wouldnt go anywhere else ....
I have a list of over 100 waiting to be seen and a list of 30 not yet avialable

Me too, and Hurt Locker.
We recently had The Sweeny, it was fun looking at the 70's style of John Thaw and Dennis Waterman. Compared to current "cop shows" it was very tame really
We saw The Hurt Locker a few weeks back. Seemed a bit hyped but it was still pretty good.
I made Mel watch "Minder" with me in our hotel room in London last year and that was funny. I still enjoyed it as much as in the 80's but she couldn't understand any of it - which made it funnier to me.
Lets see what have I seen recently:-
Maiden Heist - recommended
JCVD - Crap
St. Trininans- so so
Accidental Husband - Crap
Hurt Locker - recommended
Body of lies - recommended
Harry Potter 6 - so so.
Up - Highly recommended
Away we go - so so
Valkyrie - recommended
Inglorious Basterds - recommended
Angels & Demons - so so
Worlds greatest Dad - Crap
Julie and Julia - Watch the Meryl Streep parts, forget the rest.
Love my netflix queue
Me too for all the reasons you stated.
Don't forget, too, with Netflix that, in addition to the movie(s) you have rented out, you can watch all their streaming movies included in the monthly fee. That is really a good deal.
As a matter of fact, it's impossible to buy one of my fave Brit movies The Go Between with Alan Bates and Julie Christie, but I discovered that Netflix has it for streaming only.

I agree. Especially loved seeing DiCaprio and Crowe in Body of Lies.
Disagree on Julie & Julia. I loved Amy Adams part as much as Meryl's part.
I like to have a mix a of genras with each weeks choices ,
. usually a mix of comedy, horror, drama , noirs and classics .. havnt got much time for violence and action movies .
Below are some i have seen in the last months ...not in order
JULIE AND JULIA ( drama)
So- so movie not my type
meryl streep of course does her best ..Amy Adams puts in a good
supporting effort .
SUNSHINE CLEANING ( dark comedy )
This is fun
once again starring Amy Adams bit slow at times quirky but worth the rental .
PIERPOINT ( independent drama)
interesting
Good brit true life drama
stars one of my favourite actors Timothy Spall
story of albert peirpoint one of the best known uk hangman.
ORPHAN ( horror)
worth seeing
not your average hollywood horror movie this one has a clever twist ending
MY FELLOW AMERICANS ( political comedy )
I liked this a lot
although it was made in 1996 this satirical comedy rings true in any period of american politics
starring Jack Lennon one of the all time greats. if you want a good laugh at the expense of our corrupt leaders see this one .
GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDS .(classic)
What can i say love it one of my top fifty films .
featuring marilyn at her best she will never be replaced from a age gone by ..

I beat you John. I have 111 in my Q and 58 in my saved. Oh, make that 112 in my Q since I have just added your very good tip of Pierrepoint, which I had read about, but had completely forgotten about.
I just saw that Julia and Julia cobblers. The Meryl Streep bits were pretty good but the whiny hipster made my fists itch. I've got all the movie channels at home and I see Sunshine Cleaners coming up so I got that tivod.
But I am so getting "The Sweeney." Lots of whisky and "shut yore marf you shlag you're nicked me old mucker" nonsense. The wife will probably ask for subtitles. She had the trouble with Snatch. Oh, RockNRolla is pretty farking good too if you haven't seen it.

I just looked and noticed I have 304 in my disc queue and 74 in the instant queue! There are about 20 in the saved that haven't even come out yet.
Going to take some years to plow through that list!

I watch almost everything with English subtitles. Something like The Wire everyone mumbles and I can't follow the plot at all w/o subtitles.

Pilgrim, you'll be as old as me by the time you get to 304.
