Good game - I thought Denmark were in for a route after the second goal.
Heskey's goal was a well struck shot but their keeper seemed to have his Butterfingers brand gloves on today. Still disappointed with Heskey though - his first touch seemed to let him down quite often and he kept going offside.
What was the deal with Scholes and Owen getting subbed? Were they being saved for the quarter final (I assumed so but my Spanish is non-existant!)
Ok - I now read that Scholes twisted an ankle and Owen had a groin injury both both are expected to recover in time for the 1/4 Final - phew!

I would agree with my esteemed colleague the Pilgrim say that Eriksson thought that the game was in the 'old onion' bag (very Tommy Smythesque eh!!) and saved Owen and Scholes for the next round (little did I know that they were injured!!). I think though that they have to play a little tighter in the next round, they gave a lot of space to Denmark in the game, against a team like Brazil they could work it to their advantage.
Still, we won and thats what matters isnt it?
I sat through 88 minutes of hoping for Paraguay to hold Germany earlier just to see it dashed thanks to Neuville!!!
I thought The Sun had a good headline on it's site.....
England, Probably the best result in the World....
(a play on Carlsberg just incase you forgot!!)
