Ok like almost everyone else here I'm looking for advice regarding moving to the US. However what I think makes things slightly different for me is that I have a business which I would be operating from the US - if I get there. One of my reasons for wanting to move is simple - my sister who is a part of my business has a medical condition which needs a warm climate - the cold and damp for her are leading to a significant deteroriation in her health.

As anyone any ideas how we can do this?

I currently have a US EIN which permits me to employ US citizens but I simply don't know where to go or what to do next. Obviously the income from my business would cover myself and my sister so we would not be seeking employment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the business? Is it already operational? Have you invested in it?
If you give me some more info I may be able to help a little Smile
Your business would need at least $1 million invested in it and is supposed to employ a certain number of US workers, beyond your family members - something like ten. You can maybe get the dollar amount reduced if you locate in a rural area and can provide work to existing US workers.

This category of visa only gets about 7% of the total worldwide available visas and ranks something like fifth, behind relatives and highly qualified professionals.

Do a search with Google on "immigrant visa business owner" or similar for more information.

It's going to be a tall order to secure this type of visa but good luck!
