Am i being my usual over optimistic self or is Englands path, relatively easy to the Semi Final now. We win the group, Beat Senegal then have to beat winner grp H(Japan or 2nd Grp C (Costa Rica)... there we are ..... Semi Final against Brazil..... Its in the bag!!!!

Yes, we will win tonight as I have just found out that my ESPN2 channel only lets me watch when there are games on. Therefore, I will be watching my first WC 2002 game with beer. It's in the bag.

While I hope they do well, and always watch every England game full of optimism that they will put in a good performance, history shows that we are almost always disappointed. The draw has opened up nicely for us with France getting knocked out, although the way they were playing I think I'd have liked to have played them in the next round!
We should be too strong for Nigeria, but we underperformed badly against Sweden, and last time we had a good result (England 5-1 Germany grin ) we immediately followed it with 2 very lacklustre displays.
My heart says we will go all the way, my head says a probable knock out at quarter or semifinal stage.

To win the whole thing we've got to beat the best teams along the way anyways. So we may as well start with Denmark first, then Brazil, could well be Sweden again in the semi finals and then......and then I'll wake up from my dream !!! Fingers crossed though.
I have just seen the chart for the next lot of games and we would meet Brazil in the quater. It will be Germany in the Semis! Have I got this wrong? I don't fancy another semi with Germany again. eek
Should be Denmark, Brazil then winner of Sweden/Senegal/Japan/Turkey in the semi's. Can't play the Germans till the final should we get there. With luck and good play we could play Sweden again, this time in the semi's - how weird is that - twice in one tournament.
