I'm sure this is not necessarily British. But, I believe it was Marmite that asked me about my recipe for stuffed peppers.
We took our first cuttings of banana peppers, and bell peppers yesterday out of hubbys container garden. That I showed the pictures of in thread (Strawberries and Cream)

I combined
Hamburger
Italian Sausage (mild)
chopped onion
Garlic Powder
container of Ricotta Cheese
3 eggs
bread crumbs (with spices in them)

Mixed that all together by hand, and washed and slit the side of the banana peppers, and opened the tops of the bell peppers and stuffed them with this mixture. Covered with a spaghetti sauce and baked for an hour, about ten minutes before taking them out, I covered with slices of swiss cheese.

Talk about delicious!!! I don't measure I just pile it all in and mix.
Can't wait to make this again.

Now I will say I got this recipe off the internet, but it called for Romano cheese. I in my absent mindedness bought Ricotta cheese, and it worked just as well. wink
Ginger,
Thanks so much for sharing that recipe, although I thought they were going to be the ones that are coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried. (TGFI syle)
But your recipe sounds a lot better than the ones I make so I'll have a go!
Thankyou
You are welcome Marmite. I forgot to mention I did fry some of the banana peppers for an appetizer while waiting on the others to cook. I stuffed them with cream cheese and coated them in egg and breadcrumbs. And fried them, but the coating didn't stay on very well.
However they were delicious snacks. I think another time I would dip in batter and deep fry, these I just did in the frying pan.
