Call it what you will, you've got to laugh at some of the ludicrous phrases that come up in the workplace (sorry, I mean "at work"). There are no "buzzwords" where I work but many of them seep into my everyday speech just because I hear them on TV or from other people. I love hearing about this kind of thing, so if any Britnet peeps have any more to add from their own experience, tell us! Some one ought to be able to come up with a buzzword story, don't you think?

bbc magazine

My favourite was no. 43.
We don't have any buzz words where I work either. Though there are a few acronyms for certain situations/patients.
what are they?
I hate the phrase "has difficulty transitioning" which means doesn't like change or being told to do something else.
most of the jargon I use is internet based, though. Probably related to me spending so much time on here Wink
Oh, the usual sort of things that I suppose every work place has for clientele,

PITA = Pain in the Ass
LOLFO = Little old lady fell over sometimes just LOL
CTD = Circling The Drain

I know it doesn't sound nice, but PITA's get sick just as much as regular folk do, and just because someone is sick, it doesn't suddenly stop them being nasty and turn them into a saint.
Circling the drain? Sounds rude...

What sucks is this would be an assesment (Dianey knows what I mean)... then we'd have to define if this was 'New onset' or you patern.

Then categorized into receptive and expressive.

We probably wouldn't use CTD because we're Pedi, but our sensitivity is a little bit tweaked because we've known the children for quite a while sometimes years.

Our buzzword is crunked... respiratory distress and bagged.

I don't have time to read them all but if it's there....

"Thinking outside the box!" HAS to be the most annoying phrase EVER!

Market Value........that's the one I am hearing all the time right now. Of course it is budget time at work and everyone is clamouring for a pay raise
