was looking forward to receiving this, but have just been told I'm not getting it because i filed married joint filing and my wife has a tax id number not a social security number. I'm on an H1b visa my wife has an H4. seems I can pay taxes but not get any stimulus payment. Not fair if you ask me

That sucks - I didn't know that was a limitation.

Mine went into my account on Friday. It isn't doing anything to stimulate the economy except sitting in my savings account. One of those a month would be a much better way of stimulating the economy - this smacks of a quick, cheap, pre-election, pre-term end bribe.

I didn't get one 'cause I earn too much, but I have to earn much to pay my ginourmous mortage
Dave, next time someone brings up "no taxation without representation" give them a good bollocking. I'm thinking, maybe it's because most people with spouses on that type of visa have no vote anyway?

I haven't got mine yet. Perhaps it's because I did the married filing separately. Or because my last name begins with R. One of the two. Oh, and in agreement with Pilgrim.
Got ours in bank account last friday spent it on some new furniture .
That's because your last name begins with A.

It goes off last two digits of social security number. Mine is low-ish so I got mine sooner than most.

Will get mine sent July 4th.

Due to the fact if you did your taxes online with Turbo Tax or with H&R block you will be one fo the last people to have the checks sent out

We used H & R block online for our taxes and got ours paid directly in to our bank account a few weeks ago

I used Turbo Tax and got my stimulus payment the end of the first week so I doubt that was much of a problem.

It's to do with how you paid/got your rebate and your ss#, not how you prepared them.
