In a warden-controlled high rise block of flats in Bristol, a tenant lived undiscovered with a dead body lodged on his sofa for at least 5 years.

It was found when someone reported the smell (after 5 years!!!!). apparently the guy lived with no electricity in a warden-controlled block. What exactly was the "control" this warden provided, I wonder? it was assumed by neighbours that the smell arose from the bloke's poor personal hygeine. How bad must they all smell if they think that decaying corpse smell could be the result of not washing for a few days?
