You get one rant per day. Just one, no subrants allowed  And no one is allowed to criticize or comment except for offering sympathy or a related rant of their own (which counts as their daily rant) Alles Klar?

monster's Saturday rant
(which really happened Friday but....)

We had snow. yay! Everyone cleared their drives as per usual -some get a contractor with a plow on the front of a truck to do it for them. Fine. This usually happens in the evenings (I guess they have a day job too). These contractors often push the snow onto the street instead of onto the grass verges and lawns. Not so fine (IMO), but it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to the heavy-duty city plows, so no biggie....

Yesterday, the city was suprisingly ahead of itself and the plows had done our street by 4pm -usually they come about midnight. Looks like they did the rest of the city early too. Awesome. Took the kids to their skating lessons. Clear streets all the way. The trek home was the most hazardous ever! Why? because the bloody snow-clearing contractors had been at work shoving huge piles of snow into the middle of the already cleared streets. Cars -which were noe travelling at the regular speed because the plows had dealt with the snow- were hitting or swerving to avoid these huge moguls, icy patches appeared without warning..... have these morons no brains? Is there really no law against this? how the hell did they make it through childhood with such mental blinkers?

ARRRRGGGGHHHHH

thanks, I feel better now.

you turn..... :)
oh, make no mistake -trolls will still be beaten with rancid octupii limbs, and "No-one wants to buy my mobile phones or visit my pr0n site" rants are immune to the immunity. i.e. they will be deleted and either the FBI or one of the two moderators' Thors will be set on you. Both, if you're really bad. Be afraid and don't post.
Not fair!

There is a law against people dumping snow in the streets or on sidewalks in Massachusetts - not sure if it's a state or city (Boston) law.

Our town website says:

Quote:
Please do not plow, shovel or snowblow snow out onto the street. This is prohibited by town bylaw and is subject to a fine.

Hmmm maybe there is here
I just assumed there wasn't because so many do it
There is a law that you have to clear sidewalks on your property, but the streets are up to the state (there's a law that you can't park on them when they need plowing.... or something about alternate sides on alternate days....)
Grocery aisle hogs! twisted

Grrr!

Isn't the point of a grocery store to get in and out quickly with purchased provisions? If it was a social club, wouldn't it have a neon sign outside advertising beers and stuff?

If it was a creche for children or husbands, wouldn't it have an area for them to lol about in, instead of cluttering up the store as they trail behind the decisionmaker (she-who-must-be-obeyed?) and making it hard to zip round for people in a hurry who loathe shopping anyway?

I know, I should go late at night and I used to but then life caught up a bit and I had to get back in line with everyone else.

I'm the ultimate shopper - alone, quick, nimble, able to spin my cart around or through most obstacles but people forming human blockades as they chat, lounge or link themselves together before me can get a bit old.

That's my rant of the day.
wtg, pilgrim. you forgot the ones in the electric carts who very able keep to their side of the aisle but then use a crutch to reach across and rearrange the rice-a roni on the other side and whack anything oncoming in the face!
(oops did I break my own rules -someone feel free to rant about that..... p)
Trolls that come on here and register to reply to the one year old Moo thread and then tell us what ungrateful peasants we are.
Makes you wonder what was going through their warped little mindsies when they picked the search term for Google which let them here... were they really googling "Americans go beserk"? Or perhaps their search terms were "beserk moo"....? lol
Just what hubby said . . . . love the thread

The reason why there's such an influx on "new" posters is the fact that the site is "fed" to RSS aggregators and thus new posts on here turn up on on the front page of the main site here:

http://www.british-expats.com/portal.php

Then these are taken, or grabbed by other news/blog readers and as such then draw in "new" members....
