British Expatriate Network

Hi

My husband and I are spending 6 months in Chicago and although really looking forward to it. However, I will not be working so does anyone know of any networking groups in Chicago for Brits and how I can go about getting on some courses to take up some of my days when I'm not shopping?

This is one of those times when google will be your best friend. Try CraigsList, maybe. Go to the library when you get there -they may well have free papers listing activities and groups in your are. Also courses. Ann Arbor publishes a city guide every year that lists all of this stuff, then a monthly what's on version. it's great. it's delivered free to residents, but non residents can buy it for $2 at the local supermarket. Maybe there is something similar there.

Thanks for the advice. I have already emailed some colleges where it looks like they do some adult course but these all seem to be during the evenings and I am hoping to find something to fill the days. I'll investigate further when we get there.
