WoooHooo, Come on England. It was a great match to watch, although nerve racking. Think the result could give us a boost of confidence. Owen played much better than in the Sweden game. As soon as the game was over had to leave for work roll

We should beat Nigeria, who are already out. And if Swe draw with Argentina, Argentina are out, I think.

I avoided seeing the result for the Sweden game then was disappointed, so this time I thought "what the hell, I'll take a peek" and now I wish I'd waited! sad
But Woooooooooo-hooooooooooooooo! grin

Monster, even though you know the score, it is still worth watching the game if you get chance later on. It was brilliant.
I have a sore throat and sore hands from all the clapping and chanting. My kids have been screamed at this morning to get themselves ready for school. lol
In the words of Ron off Harry Potter, "That was b****y brilliant!" lol lol

It was a good game and I enjoyed it too. Must have woken all my neighbours as Owen's shot cannoned back off the post. Sublime.
Bring on the Nigeria. Can't wait to see the two Argentinians on my team at footy tonight smile

Brilliant was the word!
I had misty eyes too as the fans sung the National Anthem and "Rule Britania".
What a wonderful atmosphere! All those English flags draped over the stands.
I really felt proud of my countrymen, both on and off the field!
Now,I really must get some sleep today! grin

Ah, it was sweet victory and I'm so pleased that there seemed to be so many well behaved England fans out there to support our team.
I'm getting a little homesick right now as with the World Cup & the Jubilee there can be no finer party atmosphere than in the UK right now. cry

I think you are right Diane. Even my parents are into it all and they are usually quite laid back and not into footy except to humour us 'kids'.
I wish I was back at my old work while it is on. I bet they had big screens in there or were all allowed to go to the pub when games were playing. I remember a number of us going to the pub early when Euro '96 was on.

Great result, it definitely made me more homesick. Its just not same telling someone the result and them say 'oh, thats nice' rather than actually getting excited.
I kept getting calls from people in England who were in the pub and it sounded great. Now lets hope the French go out so we have an easy game in the last 16!!!

You are right when you say it isn't the same being over here. I couldn't tell anyone who would understand! sad
Even when hubby went to work, no one was interested.
I wonder how much work got done in England today lol
