From my experience, they did not ask for them or anything related to the army or discharge.

I wouldn't worry - what made you think it might have come up? I didn't even pay it any thought at any point, although I had to declare it in my application for citizenship later.

thanks for that it just put my mind at ease , a mate of mine said he had to declare what weapon training he had and his discharge papers but as you said it could of been for citizenship this will be my first green card i have been told it should last for two years then 3 months before its up you apply for the ten year visa ... good to see you support your home town side im a Reading fan
Yes that is pretty much it - two years and then apply to have the provisions removed 90 days before the expiry date.

I used to go watch Reading when they played at Elm Park as I worked nearby and couldn't always get home for games in Devon. I saw most of the home games during the "nearly" promotion season and went to see that fateful game against Bolton Wanderers too at Wembley. I have never seen them play at Madjeski as I'd emmigrated by then.

Good luck with your application.

Yeah, been to Elm Park a few times. Rained every time. Didn't Trevor Senior and Kerry Dixon play for you? Small world, I grew up in the Cowley area.

You're right about the new ground. Not bad, but no character, and there's just not the atmosphere there used to be at the Manor.

I used to go on the Southbank too - the signs looked like you were in a British Rail station.

I have similar climate to you but am next door in Oregon. When I watched Reading, I was living and working in Bracknell.

They never asked for mine.I quite sure they checked that part of your resume with the UK war office, before you were called into for an interview.

If they ask for them, tell them you lost them and for THEM to go to the UK war office for data on your service. Just like they check on you with the UK police, without you knowing of it.

In other words they check on you and you don.t supply any paperwork, only dates of service and jobs etc. They say references and army discharge papers could be forged so they never believe an applicants papers.
i tried to get a copy of my papers but when i looked into it i dont think anyone else can get to it as its part of the official secrets act but maybe they can . my brother lives in bracknell he lives in preistwood

My discharge papers were in a red MOD/Army folder - I have them somewhere.

I know Priestwood - I have family in Great Hollands.

ill tell you the truth i do not want them getting hold of my records as i was a bit naughty and got kicked out never thought it would come back to haunt me

Well it would depend on the reason I suppose.

I just don't recall it even coming up in the Green Card phase though - did you have to declare it on one of the application forms? The only time I mentioned it was Organizations Belonged to on my citizenship applications as the wording seemed to include military units so I put that along with a few clubs I was in here and my union.

Yep, things have gone downhill ever since we left the manor. We either have a decent team with a non league ground or a non league team with a decent ground. At the manor you had the end with no roof as well, lol. My dad used to work at the BMW plant years ago when it was British Leyland!! My sister lives in Abingdon.

We're in Columbus, OH.

My mate just reminded me of this - do you remember the 'Thames Valley Royals' merger that Maxwell proposed. What a load of toss that was.....
