I had planned to finish mine last night but ended up getting pissed with some mates instead, which menas I have to do it tonight. evil
Yes. I did it all online with Amazon UK or Interflora.

Still, always good to see a man with his priorities in the right order ;-)

Looks like the effects still haven't worn off yet...

As for presents, we've decided to simply not do anything anymore. It's truly pointless as we have enough "stuff" and why spend the money. We'll just phone home to say hello to my Mum and Sister on Tuesday.

We don't even decorate although we are having Emily's Mum and Stepdad over for Paella on Tuesday (made with rabbit - mmm)

Andrew :)

Got it over with a few weeks ago .

mostly gift gertificates from amazon .

Donation to our favourite charities and thats about it

The "Human Fund" by any chance?

Finished pretty early last night so got to go clubbing. All this Christmas spirit lark makes people very friendly. ;)
every year I say I'm going to be organised and get it over with early. Not!!!
Then I get myself into these projects the week before christmas, making a powerpoint presentation for a group of people. Now I'm running around trying to make my yule logs etc tonight, pies tomorrow, then join the crowds of idiots out there on christmas eve getting the few little things we don't need.

I did get my pressy from my hubby tonight though, he got me a lovely video camcorder with hard drive etc... He gave it to me early so I could figure it out by Christmas morning, Hah! how about next July....
I know I'm going to have several drinks on christmas day, daughter is cooking, and I'm drinking!!! Cheers...

Oh and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/HoHoHo and all that...
yes. just.

I must admit, if we didn't have children we wouldn't have the present thing either. For the extended family we would stick to buying a goat for a family or adopt a child for education. Both hubby and I already generally don't bother buying each other anything for Christmas. We just get what we need all year round, and if we want to get each other something we do it when we think about it and don't wait for a specific holiday or celebration.

We have finished and we are excited about Christmas. The children/young adults in our lives had a party last night and envited their friends. It was amazing and we just love seeing all these young people enjoying each other's company with lots of fun and laughter. :)

We just buy for the children .

IE.... my sons baby girl age 6 months and as far as Mels family as concerned we buy for her perants as we usually spend some time with them at xmas time .

also her brother and his wife and their children under 21 who live at home . they also attend the *family christmas* get together .

but things dont always work out right we had a litle problem yesterday the nephews /nieces insisted on bringing there present main sqeeze with them ( not the same sqeeze as last month ) and there was of course no gifts for them ,as my wife said where does it end ...????
We sent calenders to folks in the UK, but Mr Melhug and I really don't "do" Christmas, so no shopping!
As most of you know I am Wiccan and celbrate Yule at the winter solstice, Mr Melhug is a Christian but since the kids and grandkids flew the nest we don't make a big deal of it at all. A small gift each to exchange, some new toys for the dogs, some extra carrots and apples for the horses and that's about it.
I have candles in the house year round and just change the colors with the seasons... a vase of cedar and rosemary branches and my decorating is done. No tree this year either.

We are not rich financially, but have an abundance of love which makes us very wealthy. We need little more than that, and want little more.

I wish all of you the love, joy and contentment that we have.

Have a Merry festive season everyone!
I suppose I should go out and buy a few things, shouldn't I? |
I ended up buying myself three pairs of new trainers, pictured below, and not too many presents for others. The purple ones are not so bright in real life. I love trainers. :D

and I was lucky to get these as they didn't make many pairs. They are made of ostrich

That's naughty - but I sort of did similar myself. Got that "SceneIt:Lights Camera Action" game last week on the Xbox 360 and had a fun session of playing it last night with three of my mates as a drinking game. Never played the basic DVD player version of it but this has to be the best one as you all get your own "buzzer" and it plays really smoothly.

Did the wife's shopping in 45 minutes on Sunday, what we usually do is not by stuff during the year and make sure we get each other stuff we want for Christmas. So

she gets

Jamie Oliver - Naked Chef (the book, not the chef)
The sequel to Mr. Darcy takes a wife (cannot remember title)
Frank Valli and the Four Seasons CD (she saw Jersey Boys, what can I tell you)
Stella McCartney perfume
Titanic DVD (groan!)
Faber Castell Box of Pastel Pencils (for drawing)

I get

80GB Ipod
clothes
after-shave
books

we are both happy!!!
