Woohoo!

As some of you might remember Jack died a couple of years ago whilst I was covering the racing at Mid Ohio.

So we've waited a couple of years, and right now I have some downtime (a rare thing these days) so we rescued a German Shepherd and something dawg....

So without further a do - meet Thor...right now he is 10 weeks old and weighs 17/18lbs...

Just before the loooong drive home from San Diego (actually it wasn't that long - we left San Diego at 12.30m, stopped 3 times for about 45 minutes each and arrived back in Capitola at 8.30pm)

..and a couple from yesterday - 12:17:07

Andrew
My goodness, judging from the size of those puppy paws you may need a bigger car.
I love dogs at that age. They always look charmed, but confused.
Lovely little fellow, soon to rule your roost. D
Wonderful, German Shepherds are just the cutest damn dogs in the world.
Remember that a puppy is not just for Xmas,

You can have it cold on Boxing Day. D
He's gorgeous Andrew
>> Too funny Moo...yes I know...actually it's the only time of the year that I have any time to be able to spend on training as I'm home for good few weeks.

Thanks everyone, yes, he's a oll, and extremely smart. So far he now sits on command and will lie down (the lie down is about 50% effective but it's happening)..

He is very adorable, and Widget and Bean have him under control too (which is a good thing).

It's nice having a poochie in the house again...

MMM you're going to have to come and see him, you know you are.....

He's a bute -)
What a sweetie! I bet he's a handful! I'll look forward to seeing more as he grows. We lost our three-year-old (dog) a month ago. (
Hey Jan,

Actually he's not. Surprisingly mellow, yes he's active (he's finding ALL of Jacks old toys (some have been kept for posterity) but he's pulling them all out and stacking them in one place....

But he's really very good. He has already sussed out the boundary of the kitchen and will not cross the area from the dining room to the kitchen. He doesn't beg for food and will simply sleep by the chair leg whilst we eat. He's very sociable but not needy if you know what I mean.

In fact, I said to E the other day, I thought you said puppies were a handful!!

He is terribly lovely.

Andrew
Cool name mrgreen
Ah lovely - very pleased for you. He looks gorgeous.

How are the cats enjoying him?

Cheers M!

As for BEan and Widget, they're fine. HE just wants to play, but Bean, the older of the two, has disciplined him a couple times, and so he's wary of Widget as well. So he's pretty much low in the pecking order (which for a dog that is going to be big - his mother was a 100lb+ pure GSD) is important.

He's really a total sweetheart.

On a side note...I was holding him outside a store the other day, as E went in, boy howdy do women love puppies...seriously. talk about opening up lines of conversation (even though I so damn cute too....MWAH!)

It was hilarious.

I would love to bring my Corgi to see him, he always needs new toys !!!

He's gorgeous Andrew! We adopted a GSD cross from the pound when we became dogless in July 2006. Maia got on great with our cat, who sadly passed away a week or so ago.
She still has a playmate though, our other dog, a lab cross who we got in October and they are joined at the hip.

I wish you many happy years with Thor. I agree with Monster it is great name, for human or dog!
