U P 3 am dive to the first designated place the ( commisary ) sold out, tried curcuit city sold out, finally sams found one a 42 inch hdtv sharp tv on sale just over $ 800 .

Long drive home after breakfast and its still only 9 am . day totally screwed up ,sleep out of sync but well worth the trip .

So tired tv still in box sitting in the halllway .
Up yesterday at 3.45, in Best Buy line at 4.45, camcorder successfully procured by 5.05, back home and in bed before sunrise.
Surprisingly serene considering tents were lined up outside the store at noon the previous day.
Paid about $150, saving around $100. Not bad and just what we wanted before the little one arrives.
Up at 10.30 am.

Didn't buy anything except dinner that evening -)

Last year I did buy a big screen TV but that was an online special so didn't have to get up early then either P
There is no way on this God's earth I would ever, ever line up with the great unwashed to save a few hundred dollars on a TV. I would rather pay any amount to ensure I could stay in bed and avoid this day of complete madness....
Friday, got up about 1pm, watched VH1 100 Best One Hit Wonders, didn't go near a store, ate at IHOP for dinner, hit the sack around midnight. What a great day.
I got in around 230am after going to a club. Got up at 10am went fishing until 4pm (caught 3 10lbs salmon) then dinner at Rodney's Oyster bar then back out clubbing until 3 this morning. Slept most of the day and now its 8pm and I am going out on the piss/pull again in an hour.

Did buy a nice shirt for tonight though it was not on sale.
Given the choice, I also would choose to avoid the madness and would rather pay extra but unfortunately, my manager....er, I mean wife decrees otherwise. -?
Worked untill 723am and then drove home behind all the poor sods that drank too much and are now on their way to work.

Got home around 745, let dog out and went to bed.

I am so confused... I'm back at work now (1228am) and just had to ask someone what day it is/was.
not my usual mode of operendi but it was a 50% off sale got a $1600 tv for $800
That will make your TV viewing just a little sweeter John.

If you are happy then that's all that matters... and all those jealous people that didn't get one! wink

Is there a special show that you never miss?
Hmmm..... slept till noon, as we are night owls and don't go to bed till nearly dawn, then spent our day in our usual way. Walked the dogs, and cleaned the horses shelter and all the usual wonderful outside stuff we do whatever the weather or temperature and enjoyed every minute of it more than we ever would if we stepped into a shopping mall!

I hate shopping of any kind and so we only took our usual trip to the grocery store where we bought what we needed.

No credit card, no debt, no unwanted stuff bought on impulse. wink

I forget the name of the organisation but there is one that promotes NOT shopping on Black Friday, pretty much for those reasons - a lot of people simply bury themselves in more debt because something is a bargain.

Doesn't apply to everyone but does seem to apply to a majority.

I used to be like that when I was younger but I broke the addiction and now I play the system. I never pay any interest though.

Went Ice Skating about 11am with Ben and family, went to Irish pub for lunch, wandered round town a bit, played board games, watched a movie in front of a roaring fire mrgreen

Good for you Easty,I agree with you 100 per cent. I wonder if those so called "Specials" are the real thing or El Cheepo models gussied up fo sale days???

Met daughter & daughter in law at 6a.m. at Target... shopped til we dropped - 12 hour marathon! Yes we had fun...

Stopped for a Starbucks and for lunch, otherwise store after store... Didn't buy that much, but enjoyed watching other people...

Yesterday - relaxed and watched football.
Today - dead to the world - tired from Friday...
Will do it again next year...
