I have been in the US since January on an L1-A visa. My company is now sponsoring me for an EB1-3 Green Card. What would happen with my spouse and kids' L2 visas? Do they remain on those or is there a Green Card equivalent?
Thanks for any info.
Hi there, welcome. When my hubby's company sponsored him for a greencard, we all "went along for the ride". ie they paid for ours too and they were all done together. I don't know what an EB1-3 greencard is -I thought you either got one or you didn't, but if you got it through marriage, it's conditional to begin with :-?
you know it's not green, by the way?
good luck.
edited for typos

The bit of writing on the back that says "Permanent Resident Card" is still green - they must mean that part ;-)
Thanks for the replies. This Green Card is 'Employment Based' hence the EB. It is the permanent equivalent of the L1-A visa I am on now.
With the L1 visa spouses and dependants get an L2 but I can't find anything to say what the green card equivalent is. I will keep looking but would welcome any comments from those who have successfully travelled that route.
On another note we both just passed our Texas driving tests (after 10 months of not getting round to it!). At least now I can buy a drink at a public venue (I was recently refused a beer at an MLB baseball game when my British passport and driving licence were not accepted as proof of age - I am 42!).
Found this website.
Not sure it helps much as it is also silent on the eligibility of spouses and families for Green Cards of the back of an EB1(3)
