I just realised, like my family in Northamptonshire, we always went to the announcements in our local rag.
Every week, I check the obituary column online of our local newspaper.
So far I have had 3 people I know die this year under 50.
Anyone else do this? roll

LOL - check them daily to make sure I'm not there. -)

I do check them for the ages of people, there's been a load of people younger than me die lately, way too many...

Bit negative but i do check it from time to time know lots of folks here dont want to say the wrong thing if they have lost somebody recently .

you are correct about age lots of younger folks going, drugs and road accidents are the main cause .
