I'm waiting to hear from my parents who live along the river Deben in Suffolk, just upriver from Felixstowe.. Their house was flooded during the '53 floods. I am listening to BBC Suffolk as I type. It doesn't sound good does it? ( .
Thames flood barrier and I imagine any other flood barrier they can lay there hands on, has been..you know...switched on.
Wow - seem to be a lot of these floods over in UK nowadays.

Times like that I am glad my parents live on top of a hill. Anytime I ask how they are doing when it floods in the west country, they usually say they can watch the water rush past their house as it heads downhill but the grade is too steep for it to come in their property.
My dad was joking about having put his waders on. But it seems that they didn't have to worry at all... life went on as usual.
It could have been a lot worse.....
